Plot : Conviction is a thriller drama, directed by Tony Goldwyn. The movie is based on the true story of a single unemployed mother Betty Anne Waters, who strives to set his brother free from jail. The movie features the firm devotion of a sister for her brother. Betty’s brother Kenneth Waters is wrongfully convicted for the murder of Katharina Brow in Ayer, Massachusetts in 1983. But Betty is quite sure that her brother is innocent. So, in order to escape her brother from jail, she completes her schooling, then continues her college studies and finally completes graduation in law from Roger Williams University in Rhode Island. While pursuing her studies, Betty also raises her two children and even works as a part-time waitress. When she reaches law school, she begins investigations of her brother’s case. With the help of an attorney Barry Scheck, who is from the Innocence Project, a nonprofit organization devoted to overturning wrongful convictions and DNA evidences, she succeeds to prove her brother’s innocence and finally, he gets released.
